Welcome to level123english

This website will help you to learn English - using reading, listening, writing and speaking skills – at the right level for you!
My name is Ian, I am a qualified teacher from Cambridge, England, and I teach English full-time in my own language institute in Austria (
www.englischinstitut.at).

Every 2 weeks I post new resources on this website, usually about something in the news.
Choose your own level, from Level 1 (easy/basic), Level 2 (intermediate) or Level 3 (advanced).
You can read the text, answer my grammar and vocabulary questions, and listen to an audio of the text.
Check out the demo resources below to see how it works.

You can also:

  • search the back catalogue for resources on specific topics
  • save your own vocabulary list to learn
  • write messages to help your writing skills
  • book an on-line Sykpe lesson
  • read the News page for more vocabulary

To subscribe, click on the ‘subscribe’ link to the right and pay with PayPal (only €15 for three months) or email me: ian(at)englischinstitut.at
Educational institutions and businesses can also subscribe to use these resources for education and training.

We hope that you enjoy learning with us!
Ian
